Two new IPL teams bagged Rs.13000 crore for BCCI


The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League will be bigger and more interesting. Now 10 teams will be playing against each other for the IPL 2022 trophy. With the two new teams, there will be more opportunities for the newcomers, who are looking to showcase their fantasy cricket skills on the right platform. 

Sourav Ganguly, BCCI president was happy and said “Indian Premier League is growing and now going to the two new cities Lucknow and Ahmedabad, India. It is good to see that the new teams have such a high valuation, which is increasing the financial strength of the Cricket world.” He also stated that “The ITT of these two teams included the two foreign bidders, which shows the global appeal of IPL ''. 

The Indian Premier League is ready to welcome the two new teams in the IPL season 2022. The homeland of the new teams will be Lucknow and Ahmedabad. 

IPL 2022 with Two New Teams

The next season of IPL will have 10 teams and a total of 74 matches will be played. The teams will be playing seven matches on home ground and seven away matches. Goenka is delighted to be back in the IPL game as a full-time owner. After winning the bid Goenka said “it feels good to be back, but this time we will build a good team” 

Bidding Process of the two new teams

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said it was a long process of seven hours to choose the final bidders for both the teams after an intense procedure involving, technical screening and opening the documents of financial bid. 

The companies that cleared the final round of technical screening of the bidding process included companies like RP-SG. Adani Group, HT Media Private Limited, Aurobindo Pharma, All Cargo, CVC, Kotak group, Torrent Pharma, and the Glazers of Manchester United through an equity firm. 

Many companies were dismissed from bidding due to their concerning the formation of two new teams. But how will Ahmedabad and Lucknow IPL teams choose the best players, as the big players are already for other IPL teams? 

To provide a fair opportunity to all the new teams, Fantasy Premier League T20 auction will be held at the end of the year. All the IPL players will return to the auction to become part of new teams.

Undoubtedly IPL is the most beloved fantasy cricket across the world. Whether it is on a live field or playing fantasy Premier League T20 on Royal 11. The fifteenth edition of Fantasy Premier League will be lit. Total 10 teams will be lightning playing together, but against each other to claim the IPL trophy.
