5 players Lucknow and Ahmedabad might be targeting for IPL Season 15

 


Preparation for Indian Premier League Season 15 has already started. This season two new teams will be joining the squad of the Indian Premier League - Ahmedabad and Lucknow. Some teams have already retained their best players, while some will be participating in the Mega Auction. Fantasy Premier League 2022 will be huge and interesting, as now it will be a quite long race for all the teams to be in the finals.

New Teams of the upcoming season:


Two more Indian cities will be joining the Indian Premier League - Ahmedabad and Lucknow. Lucknow Team was bought for Rs.7,090 crores by RPSG Group and Ahemdabad was bought by CVC Capital Partners for Rs.5,625 crore. 

This is not the first time RPSG is investing in the IPL. In 2016, this Kolkata-based business bought the Pune franchise for two years. 

CVC Capital Partners is a private equity firm in Luxembourg, which is interested in investing in multiple sports. 

With the new addition to the IPL, the BCCI announced that now the Indian Premier League is a 10 team affair with a total of 74 matches to win the IPL cup. 


5 Players, that will be targeted by new teams

  1. Shikhar Dhawan

He might not be considered as the best opener in T2o cricket, but Shikhar has his legacy when we look at his performance in IPL. He holds the second position of highest run-scorers in the IPL history, Virat Kohli holding the first position with 5784 with an average of 34.84 and strike rate of 126.25. In the last three seasons, he has scored more than 500 runs consecutively. Who will not go for such an experienced player? A new team will prefer an exceptional IPL T20 career, over any newcomer. 

Moreover, he is not retained by Delhi Capitals for next season. Most probably, both the new additions will take advantage and invest in Shikhar Dhawan. 


  1. David Warner 

David Warner had poor luck in IPL 2021, as he was removed from the Sunrisers Hyderabad team and also lost his captaincy in cricket to Kane Williamson. But, who can stop him from achieving something bigger? He was crowned as the Player of the Tournament in the T20 World Cup 2021. 

He is best in playing powerplay and carrying the momentum in middle overs too. Everyone knows his ability, both new additions must not lose the chance of choosing one of the best cricket players. 


  1. Rashid Khan 

It is quite surprising that Sunrisers Hyderabad, choose not to retain Rashid Khan - one of the best bowlers of T20. His outstanding performance in T20 speaks for his ability to perform best in the upcoming IPL season. 

He was like a thunderstorm, picking 93 wickets in 76 games only, with an economy rate of 6.33. He is one of the players on which new teams should invest their money. 


  1.  Shreyas Iyer

The next player is the middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer of DC. However, Iyer missed IPL 2021, due to a shoulder injury. But he was the second-highest run-scorer for Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2020-21; after Shikhar Dhawan. 

He must be looking for the opportunity to lead the team. Hope, Ahmedabad, and Lucknow will make the right choices. 


  1. Ravichandran Ashwin

He is not also among the four retained players of the Delhi Capitals. Ashwin has an outstanding performance in the T20 World Cup and 3 matches T20 series against New Zealand. He is considered to be the third player in the Mega Auction list of IPL 2022. After a wait of three years, he is back in India’s T20I squad.
