Players Retained by the teams for IPL 2022

 


Indian Premier League 2022 preparations have already begun and cricket fans are going crazy for the new season. Everyone is waiting for the 15th edition of IPL, as the two new teams are joining the T20 league. Teams have already retained their best players and are looking forward to the auction to pick the most potential players to ensure victory. New teams will be picking 3 players in the upcoming auction. 

Retained Players List for IPL 2022

Chennai Super Kings

  • Ravinder Jadeja: This Indian allrounder is retained by CSK in 16 crores. He is one of the best players of IPL and a potent weapon with bat and ball as well. 

  • MS Dhoni - Cricket fans can witness the game of MS Dhoni, one more year in IPL, as he is retained by CSK for 12 crores. Dhoni has been handling the team well and will be expecting the same from him for the next season too. 

  • Moeen Ali - The English all-rounder and important pillar for the success of CSK. 

IPL 2021 - Moeen Ali is retained by the team in 8 crores. He is allowed to play freely, where he takes chances and remains successful. 

  • Ruturaj Gaikwad - Chennai Super Kings retained the star player of their team in 6 crores who contributed to winning the IPL 2021. This 24-year-old player has been consistent with his performance in the last season and proved himself worthy of retaining. 

Royal Challengers Bangalore

  • Virat Kohli -  Virat Kohli is still on the top of the priority list of RCB, even after his a step back from the captaincy. He has played memorable games for RCB and will continue to perform best for the team. Kohli is retained by RCB ahead of the 2022 auction for 15 crores.

  • Glenn Maxwell - The star player of Australia was dropped by Punjab Kings due to his poor form. Glenn performed outstandingly and saved the team from deep trouble. RCB chose to retain him at 11 crores to make a big impact in the IPL 2022. 

  • Mohammad Siraj - The young Indian Pacer has made its position in the top player list of RCB. He has been Kohli’s good-to-go bowler in difficult situations. RCB invested a huge amount of 7 crores in his retention.  

Mumbai Indians

  • Rohit Sharma - Rohit Sharma is like a driving force for the five-time IPL championship team - Mumbai Indians. The Indian skipper is the first choice for the retention and the team has retained him for Rs. 16 crore. 

  • Jasprit Bumrah - Jasprit has been the best pacer for MI over the years and is the second choice of the team for retention. He knows how to pick wickets even in death overs. The team can’t afford to lose a true gem like him and invested 12 crores in the retention. 

  • Suryakumar Yadav - Among the wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav, MI decided to choose Surya Kumar Yadav as the third retained player. Mumbi Indians invested an amount of 8 crores in him.  

  • Kieron Pollard - Pollard is the only foreign player MI would love to have in its team and retained him for 6 crores. This all-rounder has given outstanding performance for the team. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad

  • Kane Williamson - This New Zealand cricketer is the first choice of SRH for retaining players. Even though Williamson had poor performance, the team decided to go with him and invested 14 crores to keep him in the team. 

  • Abdul Samad - Choosing Abdul Samad as the retained player is quite surprising. He is known to score runs in death overs, you might have seen his flamboyance in IPL 2021. His retention price is 4 crore. 

  • Umran Malik - He stunned everyone with his pacing style, as he delivered the fastest delivery in IPL 2021 at a clocking 153 KMPH. SRH decided to put faith in him and invested 4 crores for the retention ahead of Auction2022. 

Rajasthan Royals

  • Sanju Samson -Nevertheless, his side didn’t perform well, but he was the leading run-scorer with 500 runs in 14 matches. The team also handed him the captaincy, which didn’t go well. He is retained by the team for 14 crores. 

  • Jos Buttler - The second retention done by RR is of wicketkeeper batsman Jos Buttler. He was retained by the team for 10 crores.

  • Yashasvi Jaiswal - RR choose to go for uncapped player Yashasvi Jaiswal.  The team has invested Rs 4 crores to retain him and wants him to play the coming IPL franchise with them. 

Kolkata Knight Riders

  • Andre Russell - The Caribbean all-rounder Andre was the first choice of KKR for retention. The player looked more comfortable with the ball and picked 11 wickets in 8 matches. In IPL 2021, he managed to score 183 runs. The team invested 12 crores to book him for the coming season of IPL.  

  • Varun Chakravarthy - KKR knows how to hold on to the best players like Varun, who is also a valuable asset for the company. The team decided to invest Rs. 8 crores in his retention. 

  • Venkatesh Iyer - Venkatesh Iyer saved KKR from drowning and retaining its game in IPL 2021. He was the team savior, even when batsmen like Sunil Narine were helping the team. He is a standout player of IPL 2021 and was rewarded with retention worth 8 crores. 

  • Sunil Narine - West-Indies spin all-rounder was retained by KKR in 8 crores. Narine has been playing for KKR for a long time now and contributing to the victory of the team in IPL 2012&2014 is an example of his outstanding performance. 

Delhi Capitals

  • Rishabh Pant - Pant is pretty good with stumps, however, there are certain errors in his judgments; overall his good at what he does. DC retained the player for 16 crores.  

  • Axar Patel - Among Shikhar Dhawan and Axar Patel, the franchise decided to retain Axar Patel for 9 crores. Axar is a capable all-rounder with 34 wickets in the 41 IPL matches. 

  • Prithvi Shaw - Prithvi Shaw played a crucial role in the overall performance of DC. He smashed 479 runs which mostly scored in the first six overs from 15 games, which also includes 4 half-centuries in the game of IPL 2021. 

  • Anrich Nortje - Selection of South African pacer - Anrich over Kagiso Rabada is quite surprising. His consistency made him the fourth choice in the retention list. He invested 6.5 crores in retaining Anrich ahead of the competition. 

Punjab Kings

  • Mayank Agarwal (INR 12 Crores): The opening batsmen Mayank Agarwal is retained by PKBS for 14 crores. The team made a contract of three years with him and he will be loyal to the team.

  • Arshdeep Singh - Punjab Kings choose to retain an uncapped player of Punjab in Rs. 4 crores. He was quite good with his bowling in the IPL 2021 and PK wants to give him a chance to grow in the future.
